The Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Sprint slider phone that claims to keep the fingers occupied is now up for pre-order. It features a PC-like QWERTY keypad sliding from beneath the display to ensure smooth typing with both the thumbs.

Each of the digits on the keypad are neatly placed and highlighted with LED lights. This should make those night time messaging sessions quite convenient. There’s a dedicated number row for avoiding those pesky errors while inserting numerals into texts.

Coming to its other hardware specifications, the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Sprint sports a 4.3-inch ColorBoost display on the front. It acquires some multimedia properties from its 8MP snapper affixed to the back panel and a front-facing HD sensor for video conferencing. The primary imager can record clips at 1080p.

“At Sprint, we recognize there is a large group of our customers that love the ease of a physical QWERTY keyboard. By bringing a device like Motorola Photon Q into our portfolio, we are able to give these customers the option of a physical keyboard plus international roaming capabilities to stay connected while traveling abroad,” remarked David Owens, vice president – Product Development, Sprint.

This device will operate on Sprint’s 4G LTE network and it arrives with international roaming support as well. The entire show is brought to life by the Android 4.0 OS onboard. It gets some assistance from the integrated dual core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Some of the handset’s added attributes include NFC support, Smartactions, HDMI connectivity and Sprint ID. Interestingly, it has an environment-friendly side too, going by the smartphone’s ULE Platinum ratified status.

The Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Sprint price is marked at $199.99, exclusive of taxes with an applicable upgrade or a new line of service and a 2-year agreement. It can be pre-booked from the carrier’s official website now. The device will begin shipping on August 19.
