AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 mini is now up for pre-order in the US

AT&T has announced that it will soon launch the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini in the US and has even started accepting pre-orders for it. The phone that costs less than $1 with a two-year contract will start shipping from September 27 onwards. It will even be made available in stores on the same day.

In spite of the handset being slightly outdated, it seems like a good mobile companion for users who wish to have an Android phone on a budget. The mini version of the Galaxy S3 is compatible with the carrier’s 4G LTE network and even has Wi-Fi for internet access through hotspots. Some of its other communication options include NFC and Bluetooth. The device operates with the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean version 4.2 OS.

Packed into a chassis that measures 4.77 x 2.46 x 0.34 inches and weighs around 3.96 ounces, the Galaxy S3 mini accommodates a 4-inch 800 X 480p touchscreen that has a pixel density of 217ppi. A VGA webcam has been provided to facilitate video conferencing, while a 5MP camera has been fitted on the rear panel for allowing users to capture decent-quality pictures and videos. It can record 720p movies at the rate of 30 frames per second.

The smartphone’s internal working is taken care of by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. Its 8GB internal memory can further be increased by up to 64GB using a microSD card. And as a 2000mAh lithium-ion battery hides under the hood, users can expect talk time of around 11 hours on a single charge.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 mini can be pre-ordered through the official website for $0.99.
