The Sony Vaio Duo 11 price in India has been announced and the hybrid Ultrabook will be up for grabs in the latter weeks of December this year. It is based on the Windows 8 platform like many hybrid devices we’re seeing, one of them being the Asus Taichi.
The Surf Slider design, as the company calls it, facilitates hopping from tablet to laptop mode and back. In spite of flaunting an 11.6-inch full HD touch screen display, the hybrid weighs about 1 kg and is built for convenient usage on the go.
Folded within the 17.85mm form factor is a 1.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor along with 4GB of RAM that defines the device’s performance. The Turbo Boost technology enables the processor to run above its base clock rate, up to 2.6GHz. Users should be able to benefit from wireless exchange of media through Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi.
Coming to applications, the Vaio Duo 11 includes the Music app that features xLoud and ClearPhase intending to bring to customers a high-quality audio experience. Moreover, viewing, managing and sharing of pictures and videos is made possible with the Album app.
The slate-cum-PC embodies a Lithium-ion battery which, as per the company’s claims, gives up to 4.5 hours of usage. In addition to this, an optional battery is said to roughly provide surplus usage of up to 9 hours.
Although the exact release date of the Sony Vaio Duo 11 is still unclear, it is expected to hit the Indian markets sometime in December at a price of Rs. 89,990. Users will be able to spot it in the Gun Metal color and wrapped with a stylus as well as noise cancelling headphones. It will be made available in all company-owned outlets and other select electronics and IT stores.
