We’ve seen the Xperia ray smartphone that’s now released via Telus have mobile enthusiasts let out more than a handul of ‘Wows!’ at debut. According to Telus, it is their first Sony Ericsson smartphone and is slated to hit the network in the holiday season. The Android 2.3 based device adorns dapper looks in a rather sleek profile.

Tailored for both fashion-conscious and performance-hungry users, this smartphone should suit consumers on the prowl for mobile entertainment. Coughing up an enhanced user experience, high-quality and performance come naturally to the Xperia ray. Additionally, it’s a completely elegant and sleek bundle. With unique Facebook integration in Xperia, the phone also includes Wi-Fi hotspot capability and Adobe Flash 10.

“At Telus, we are dedicated to listening to our customers and creating the best mobile experience in Canada, whether that means clear and simple pricing and contract terms, innovative new services, or choice of leading smartphone brands,” commented Brent Johnston, Telus Vice-President, Mobility Solutions. “The Sony Ericsson brand is synonymous with quality and innovation in the smartphone space, and has a strong fan base amongst Telus customers, whom we expect to embrace the Xperia ray. It’s a powerful and elegant device.”

Walking in at a mere 9.4mm in width, the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray smartphone shows off a compact aluminum frame. It’s fitted with a 3.3” reality display with the mobile Bravia engine while also being scratch resistant. Offering brighter colors and lively images, the screen complements the 8.1MP snapper well. The camera on this phone blends in Sony’s Exmor R for mobile technology, allowing users to capture moments in poorly lit environments too.

For now, there’s just a ‘coming soon’ label for the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray smartphone on Telus, with pricing details and availability yet to be mentioned.
