Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 specs tiptoe to the fore

Looks like neither will the 5.8-inch device of Samsung be known as the Fonblet nor will the 6.3-inch handset be the next member of the Note series; instead, they both may be called the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3. Nevertheless, their model numbers can still be seen reading GT-I9152 for the former and GT-I9200 for the latter, just as before.

We don’t know whether somebody indeed talked the South Korean conglomerate out of using the moniker Fonblet or if it was all just a pile of baseless speculations, but the current name does seem like a safer bet in any case. Moving on, a post on SamMobile gives us a fair notion of what can be expected from both the handsets.

Samsung Galaxy Series

Details of the GT-I9152 were the first to make a breakthrough earlier today and breathe some fresh air. The report reasserts that the device will come encompassing a 5.8-inch qHD display and run either version 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 of Android. In addition to this, it gives out that the handset will be fueled by a dual core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The phone’s dimensions of 164mm × 83.8mm × 9.7mm will also conceal other components like 1.5GB of RAM and a 2,600mAh battery.

Next up is the GT-I9200 which has been rumored to walk a step ahead of the aforementioned device with slightly better specifications. As anybody can guess, it may arrive with a 6.3-inch touch display. This PLS HD screen apparently dominates the front panel and leaves sufficient space for a 2MP webcam to squeeze in. The rear is said to have been embellished with an 8MP camera.

Rumor has it that the handset’s hub welcomes a processor with two cores which individually possess a clock speed of 1.7GHz. A 3,200mAh power pack, 1.5GB of RAM and connectivity features like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 80211 a/b/g/n as well as A-GPS round up as other speculated components that the device is expected to hold onto.

There are no details dealing with the variants of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and assessing its model number we believe the smartphone will allot space to an extra SIM slot. The Mega 6.3 on the other hand might be descending into the market in two models depending on the availability of LTE. Also, we can look forward to 2 colored units, namely black and white. The former may be landing in stores in the third week of May, whereas release information of the latter is still unclear.
