RIM Blackberry back with Thunder

BlackBerry Thunder After the BOLD step taken by RIM Blackberry, it’s rumored to release yet another phone. This time it’s the Blackberry 9500 also codenamed “Thunder”. It seems RIM is brewing a strong all touchscreen competitor to iPhone. We hope the thundering is strong enough.

This rumored handset known as the RIM Blackberry 9500 Thunder is said to release on the Verizon Wireless and Vodafone network operators. Blackberry Thunder is reported to have some sort of trick EVDO Rev. C radio mated to a GSM/HSPA radio that aims at bringing high speed data to its customers. It is also said to support LTE (Long Term Evaluation) data standard. You must have guessed it right, its Super 3G.

Since last year we have been hearing about Blackberry working rigorously to get a step ahead of the iPhone. We wonder if RIM’s Apple Killer is in the form of this new Blackberry Thunder.

This handset is said to feature only four keys, namely send, end/power on or off, menu and back. Following Bold’s footsteps we can expect Thunder to have HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. It is scheduled for release in Q3 of 2008. No word on pricing yet.
