Panasonic P31 with 5-inch screen and quad core processor launched for Rs 11990

The Panasonic P31 has finally gone official in India attached with a price tag of Rs 11,990. The smartphone is being offered with various freebies that are said to be worth Rs 10,399 and an intuitive UI which delivers enhanced features.

The Panasonic P31 is loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and the company has thrown in its Play Life user-interface. This UI enables gesture based features where you can unlock the phone or launch certain applications with simple swipes across the screen. Multitasking is also possible while watching videos through the Pop-i Player and there’s the Ultimate Saver feature which switches between battery modes. Panasonic has even thrown in the Heat-Sink tool to manage the phone’s temperature by adjusting the CPU clock speed.

The smartphone falls in the 5-inch segment carrying a disappointing resolution of FWVGA 480 x 854 pixels. The Panasonic P31 has dual SIM slots and it supports HSPA+ 21Mbps networks. Powering it up is a quad core 1.3GHz processor. The handset is capable of delivering decent battery life with the 2000mAh power pack. On a single charge, you can expect 13 hours of 2G or 9 hours of 3G talktime. There are dual cameras as well, an 8MP rear snapper with 1080p video capture and a VGA front webcam.

The Panasonic P31 will be available in black and white options next week for the aforementioned price.
