A while back, we had reported about leaked photographs of the Micromax A115 Canvas 3D, after which the company went official with the product, and now, it has announced that the phone is available for purchase in India at a price of Rs. 9,999. Carrying a naked-eye 3-dimensional touchscreen, this phone is currently selling via Saholic and Snapdeal, whereas other e-retailers are still to start stocking it.
Its 5-inch display embraces a technology which lets its users view content in 3D without having to wear any special glasses. Pretty much the same deal that was offered by LG via its Optimus 3D which was first launched in 2011. The existence of the Micromax A115 Canvas 3D wasn’t a secret, as a few weeks back, we had already seen its leaked images and had also received a tip about its specifications. Although not everything turned out to be accurate, most of the important aspects indeed stood true to the leak.
The Canvas 3D can be seen touting Android OS v4.1.2, which has become somewhat of a mandate these days. It houses dual SIM slots and comes replete with usual connectivity options that include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and 3G. Powering its operations is a 1GHz dual core processor that gains assistance from 512MB of RAM. And its camera setup comprises of a 5MP main shooter with support for clicking 3D images as well as a 0.3MP front snapper which should suffice the needs of those who wish to indulge in video calling.
A 2000mAh power pack provides it with 4.5 hours worth of talk time and about 225 hours of standby. While its internal memory has been locked down at just below 1GB, potential buyers need not worry, for a microSD card slot should provide them with extra hoarding capacity till up to 32GB. Essentials like a proximity sensor, a motion sensor and a gravity sensor have also been thrown into the mix by the manufacturer.
As mentioned above, the Micromax A115 Canvas 3D can be picked up through Snapdeal as well as Saholic at Rs. 9,999. Other e-retailers in the country are expected to start selling it within the next few days.
