LG could sell the G Pro Lite for Rs 20,000

LG recently revealed its budget-friendly competitor for the latest Galaxy Note smartphone, the G Pro Lite and while the device is officially slated to arrive in India soon, no official price was disclosed. Well, a recent report claims to have that information.

Based on details disclosed by a senior executive at LG India,’ GizBot reports that the device could retail for around Rs 20,000. Additionally, the website also states ‘a source close to the matter’ has informed them that the phone will make its debut in the country this month itself, but has specified no exact date. The device falls in the same category as the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and it will also face competition from local phablets such as the Spice Pinnacle Stylus Mi-55 and the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2.

G Pro Lite

The G Pro Lite, as its name suggests, is a cheaper version of its Optimus sibling which is retailing for ‎Rs 32,999. The device will offer a similar form factor and features, but with downgraded specifications. It features a 5.5-inch qHD touchscreen and is powered by a dual core MT6577 processor clocked at 1.GHz. LG has also incorporated 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

The smartphone flaunts a 1.3MP camera on the front and an 8MP snapper on the rear. The Android 4.1 platform runs the show along with various UX features seen in the G Series lineup including QuickMemo, QTranslator, KnockON, Qslide, Pause and Resume Recording, and a lot more. Additionally, the company has also thrown in dual SIM card slots and a stylus which aren’t available in the original variant.

The LG G Pro Lite will first reach Latin America and then various other locations including India, China and Russia.
