The Lenovo Yoga convertible laptops have been around for a while, but now the company has decided to augment the range with a new product. And no, this is not a flexible laptop that can act as a tablet if the need be. The new device is actually a slate that comes in screen configurations of either 8 inches or 10 inches.
But just because it lacks a keyboard, doesn’t mean the Lenovo tablet cannot be used in various positions. If you look closely at the picture of the slate, it has a cylindrical handle at the bottom which plays an important role in helping you place the gadget in the desired mode. So you can get a good grip over the tablet when in the ‘hold’ mode and turn the stand 90 degrees to place it on a flat surface in the ‘stand’ mode. And when users wish to type, they can position it in the ’tilt’ mode on the table.
Apart from comfort, the device even strives towards offering enhanced performance and coughs up the juice for usage time of about 18 hours, thanks to dual batteries in its cylindrical stand. The Wi-Fi models of both versions acquire steam from MT8125 processor, while the 3G models boast of a MT8389 quad core chipset. There’s either 16GB or 32GB internal memory and it makes the most of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.
Moreover, the gadget delivers visuals in 1280 x 800p resolution and has been fitted with a 5MP rear camera and a webcam. The smaller variant of the tab tips the scales at 0.88 lbs, while the bigger one weighs in at 1.35 lbs. And incase the onboard storage is not sufficient, users can insert a microSD card in the dedicated slot and increase the capacity by up to 64GB.
The 10-inch Lenovo Yoga tablet carries a price tag of $299, while the 8-inch version will set you back by around $249. The former is available through all leading retail channels in the US, while the latter can only be picked up through Best Buy, apart from the official Lenovo eStore. Also, the Lenovo Yoga 10 Bluetooth Keyboard Cover has been launched and costs $69.
