AT&T rolls out Mobile Hotspot application

HTC Inspire 4G

In the month of January, we penned down an article when AT&T enriched the mobile phone terrain with the HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Atrix 4G and Samsung Infuse 4G. The network carrier has now stepped in with its Mobile Hotspot application.

This offering will enable smartphone customers to connect multiple devices from their smartphone using Wi-Fi capabilities. Bundled with the AT&T Data Pro plan, users can enjoy a total of 4GB for $45 per month.

David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, commented, “Our customers want to connect as many devices as possible to the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network, which is getting faster with 4G.”

“We want to extend the benefits of an additional 2GB to smartphone customers on our tethering plan. This delivers more value today for the price they’re already paying – and that’s what our customers want,” added David Christopher.

In order to bring AT&T’s smartphone tethering plan in line with the AT&T Mobile Hotspot offer, the network carrier will intuitively add the extra 2GB of monthly usage for users who are already on a tethering plan for no additional fees.

Users will recive a text message from AT&T on February 13, 2011 as soon as the extra 2GB has been auto-added to their plan. This app will be available starting with the in-store launch of the HTC Inspire 4G.
