AT&T Pantech Impact phone unveiled

AT&T Pantech Impact

Pantech now adds the Impact to AT&T’s lineup of quick messaging mobile phones. Offered in two colors namely bright blue and soft pink, the Impact features a bright shiny faceplate and a highly tactile touchpad along with a full hidden keypad for easy messaging.

To bring an unmatched mobile phone experience, the Impact equips two screens. The glossy exterior’s outline comes with textured blue or pink detailing. The touchpad below the screen is highly responsive and reacts to fingertips with a sober haptic buzz. The Impact allows users to manage their favorite music, make calls or send texts without the need open it.

“Our customers expect the very latest in trendsetting mobile phones from Pantech, and Impact really delivers. By combing everyone’s favorite social and multimedia options, along with a new form factor which features an interactive touchpad, Impact is a first for both Pantech and AT&T,” said Jim Berridge, Director of Sales and Marketing, Pantech Wireless, Inc.

The Impact flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. For internet addicts, the device provides an array of shortcut keys that allow quick access to IM, text, email, and switching between applications. The Impact brings an ultimate multimedia experience with its second full-color display screen, ideal for watching videos, friends’ profiles and images. Users can clearly listen to music, GPS directions and chat on speakerphone with its speakers placed on either side of the screen. The Impact keeps users connected on the go, as it allows them to browse the web, update status with images and videos, check newsfeeds, stream music and video and play games. It also allows users to capture and share pictures and videos with multimedia messaging and AT&T Mobile Email.

The device is loaded with AT&T’s new HTML mobile browser and att.net service that blends faster HTML browsing with custom features to personalize favorite bookmarks and local searches. The device integrates AT&T Navigator that provides voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions in real-time.

AT&T offers Impact for $99.99 with a two year contract, after a mail-in rebate (users need to shell out $149.99 for the two year and receive a $50 AT&T Promotion Card). The Impact is available at AT&T company-owned stores and official website of AT&T.
