ZTE Grand Era LTE smartphone introduced in Hong Kong

The news about the unveiling of the ZTE Grand Era LTE has hit the block, and this Android based smartphone will soon be making its way to Hong Kong through China Mobile’s network coverage. The device will be seen supporting the carrier’s first ever commercial converged TD-LTE/LTE FDD network. And at 8.5mm thick, it’s one of the slimmest handsets in the market, according to its maker.

This phone was first revealed in October this year, along with a number of other offerings from the company. It was announced then that it will be making its way to Europe in Q4 2012, and will be travelling to the Middle East and North Africa during the first half of 2013. Proper details about its release information in these territories haven’t been disclosed since. He Shiyou, the EVP and Head of the Terminal Division at ZTE has mentioned that the growing popularity of the LTE environment in Hong Kong will indeed lead to the increase in the use of LTE smart terminal products in the near future. He further pushed in that this same model can also be applied to mainland China.

ZTE Grand Era LTE

The Grand Era LTE ships with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, but features a modified UI developed by its maker. This customizable interface is called Mifavor. The handset kicks in a 1.5GHz dual core processor as well as 1GB of RAM, for its operations to run smoothly. Its front is highlighted by a multi-touch 4.5-inch display that grants a resolution of 1280 × 720p. It is covered with Gorilla Glass for advanced protection. The phone’s battery is an internal one, and is of 1780mAh capacity.

Furthermore, the dimensions of the device read 133mm x 66mm x 8.5mm. Its main camera is an 8MP one with AF and flash. On the other hand, its front carries a 1MP snapper which is capable of 720p videos. Technologies like GPS with AGPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, ambient light, a compass, a Gyro sensor, dual mic noise reduction and MHL can also be found inside the handset.
