ZTE Engage Cricket

The ZTE Engage Cricket price in the US has been announced and there’s an October 2 release date set for the ICS smartphone. It is expected to hit availability status through retail outlets and the carrier’s official website.

Coming to the specifications, the ZTE handset provides Android 4.0 right out of the box, like we already mentioned above. It shows off a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen and houses a 1.4GHz processor under the hood. Capturing a prominent place on the exterior is an 8MP camera with LED flash. Let’s not forget, there’s a front-facing VGA sensor for conducting video calls over the web. The phone’s internal memory can be extended by slipping in a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. On the connectivity front, it tags along Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, while an integrated Li-ion 1900mAh battery fuels the complete show.

“The ZTE Engage is an exciting smartphone with enhanced functionality from Android 4.0 OS and will be available with Cricket’s new value-rich no-contract smartphone service plans. Impressive at any price, the ZTE Engage will be a WOW device for Cricket customers and is a great new addition to the higher-end smartphone line-up that Cricket is turning on this year,” cited Matt Stoiber, senior vice president of devices for Cricket.

In terms of plans, buyers can pair the ZTE Engage Cricket with the network operator’s Muve Music service. Subscribers can avail of unlimited download of songs along with the service’s Muve First and Muve Headliner featured artist commentary and programs. Prospective users need not pay for each song or tie up with contracts. The first $50 plan offers unlimited calling and messages with 1GB 3G data per month. The $70 unlimited plan provides 5GB of data on a monthly basis and the $60 scheme permits 2.5GB data each month. The last two plans proffer the tethering feature as well.

The ZTE Engage Cricket price in the US is $249.99 and there’s no contract tied to it, of course.
