The Yu Yunicorn has hit official status in India and is now up for registrations over at Flipkart. The handset maker is putting it up for sale at Rs 12999 for a month, after which it’ll leave the e-commerce site and cost Rs 13999.

Other than the significant difference in price, the company is also hoping to convince potential buyers into snapping up the Yu Yunicorn early by bundling it with Rs 400 within the newly-launched Yu Wallet, 6 months of free Gaana access, and an additional 10% discount on SBI cards.

Top highlights of the Yunicorn include its full-metal body, fingerprint scanner and 4000mAh battery equipped with fast charging technology. The Micromax-owned company claims the powerhouse can last for 4 days on a single charge. Audiophiles can blast music through DTS-enhanced bottom-facing speakers which offer dynamic volume leveling and automatic bass management.

Yu is also looking to focus on the software side of things by shipping the smartphone with a near-stock Android experience dubbed Android on Steroids. The platform comes with a vertical app drawer and integrated search bar. The firm is further guaranteeing an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow within a month of the phone’s arrival.
