In its continuing bid to make our lives easier than they already are, Google has infused into its Search app the ability to order food right through the results. Meant only for the US as of now, this feature could soon be brought into India as well, given the recent rise in popularity of food ordering apps in the country.

When you search for a nearby restaurant on Google Search app of your smartphone, the blue and white menu that appears will show you one more option than usual. This will be called ‘Place an order’ and it will let you do exactly that.

In the US, the company has decided to partner with a total of six food delivery services as of now. These include Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu and MyPizza.com. Google has moreover, made it clear that it’s looking to add more companies to this list in the future.

It goes without saying that the usage of the individual apps of these above mentioned services will be taking a big hit now that Google has introduced the new feature. But for now, it’s only people in the US who’ll be able to take advantage of the new Google Search food ordering feature.
