Yahoo! pulls out Messenger app and updates Mail for Android

Android Yahoo Mail Messenger We last reported about the Yahoo! messenger, when it updated it iPhone App with version 2.0. The Yahoo! Mobile blog now introduces the Yahoo! Messenger application for Android users along with a fresh update to the Yahoo! Mail Android app. What’s more, an added functionality in these apps is the ability to sync and merge Yahoo! Address Book contacts with the user’s Android contact list.

The blog further claims that their mobile experiences have been customized for over 5,000 different mobile device types. The Yahoo! Messenger for Android now includes video calling, wherein users can begin their video IM conversations on their computers and then continue them on their Android devices. Further, it offers enhanced photo and video sharing.

On the other hand, the Yahoo! Mail for Android now enables users to link multiple Yahoo! accounts in a single application. They can now view all their mail photos which will be sent in a gallery view. Thus, handset owners needn’t go through the entire message searching for attachments.

Both these Yahoo! apps can be downloaded from the Android Market beginning today.
