Yahoo! Mobile rolls out new features for the oneSearch Shortcut such as auto-locate, improved search assist and Windows Mobile client. Yahoo oneSearch Shortcut is an internet search system launched by Yahoo for mobile phones. This service offers a summary of actual information including headlines, Flickr photos, business listings and links to other sites. All this is geared up to provide the user with more detailed information. Hence, a zip code or a city name is needed for oneSearch to start delivering local results.

Joy Ghanekar, a member of the Yahoo! Mobile team, has stated that, “The Yahoo! Mobile team works every day to make mobile search faster, easier, and more relevant for millions of Yahoo! oneSearch users worldwide.”

The added features aim to provide a more efficient search experience for Yahoo! users. With the auto locate, users no longer need to enter address or zip code to access local listings since the tool combines cell tower triangulation and Wi-Fi hotspots.

The updated service also comes with a search assist that now has integrated Search history. This gives the user contextual recommendations based on prior searches. OneSearch also boasts of new Windows Mobile client as well. With this the user can now directly place his query from the home screen of the device through the integrated voice search.

Yahoo! oneSearch Shortcut is now available on most of the latest Nokia, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices and also select handsets in Australia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
