The Xolo Q610s smartphone is being treated to Android 5.0 Lollipop and the update has already started rolling out to users in India. The handset is the second of its kind from the company’s 2014 lineup to taste Google’s latest mobile OS and it’s surprising that the brand managed to deliver the new firmware quicker than most other OEMs.
The Xolo Q610s was launched back in September of last year for Rs 7499 (now selling for Rs 5999) and it’s an entry-level smartphone much like the One device which was the first to get Lollipop. The phone is pretty similar to Android One handsets where hardware is concerned and it offers quite an attractive design along with a screen-to-body ratio of 74%.
By the looks of things, you’ll be treated to a vanilla experience with the new update. All of the enhancements announced by Google including support for lockscreen notifications, a new app manager, better security and improved power efficiency, will all be included in the new firmware. Xolo hasn’t provided a changelog as yet and we doubt there will be one.

With quick updates to Lollipop, the company has certainly earned itself a lot of popularity. Other OEMs have also started promising Android 5.0 with new releases, but we’re yet to see them deliver. The Q610s smartphone was originally launched with version 4.4 KitKat and it offers a 4.5-inch display with a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor delivering the steam.
