Xolo Q1010i smartphone gets Android 4.4.2 KitKat update via OTA

Xolo Q1010i smartphone owners have been highly anticipating the arrival of Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the wait is finally over as the update is now seeding to the smartphone. The company has shared this exciting news through its Twitter account and has stated that the firmware is available over the air and via PC.

Apart from the Xolo Q1010i, other handsets such as the Q1010, Q3000, Q700S and Q1200 are also entitled to receive Android 4.4 KitKat, but there’s still no concrete information about release dates as yet. For the device in question, the new release is around 300MB in size and introduces the latest features introduced by Google.

From Xolo’s side, there doesn’t appear to be any new proprietary software, so we’re definite that you’ll be treated to an almost stock experience after the update. The smartphone is the second device to get updated to KitKat, while new phones such as the he Q600s, the Q1011 and the Q2000L come with the latest OS preloaded.

The handset made its debut back in April and its main highlight is the rear-facing Sony Exmor R 8MP sensor which offers enhanced low-light imagery through its f2.0 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size. The Xolo Q1010i phone is a mid-range one offering the usual set of hardware components.
