The new Xiaomi Mi Headphones and Mi In-ear Headphones were launched on the Chinese company’s second day of its week-long first anniversary celebration. The gadgets were announced back in January, and are now available on Mi.com for Rs 5499 and Rs 999, respectively.
The asking price of the Xiaomi Mi Headphones and Mi In-Ear Headphones are a bit steep compared to other options available in the market. The brand is known for its value-for-money smartphones, but seems to moving in a different direction with its accessories, as seen in its previously launched mouse pads.
The black and gold pair of Mi Headphones has a 50mm diaphragm made of beryllium with a semi-open design which outputs 3D surround sound. It is said to reduce distortion and improves fidelity by using a dual damping system which absorbs internally-reflected sound waves to lower ambient noise.
The product has an in-built Knowles MEMS microphone with a silver-plated copper wire running through it. Kevlar fibers inside the cables lower the chances of tangling and resist breaking. The remote controller of the Mi Headphone is compatible with Android handsets and devices running iOS 5 and above.
The gadget has a low impedance of 32 ohms which allows for lower power consumption even while playing sound at a loud volume. It comes with three different replaceable cushions, two on-ear and one over-ear. The Mi Headphone weighs 220g and can be folded for portability.

The Mi In-ear Headphones were launched last year and the new version now features an aerospace-grade metal diaphragm with a patented ‘sandwich’ design. Like the Xiaomi Mi Headphones, it also has a Knowles microphone and Kevlar fiber cables, plus silicone earbuds in three different sizes. The accessory weighs 14g and comes in a space grey color.
