Xiaomi Mi 4 64GB model set to land in India this February 24 for Rs 23999

If you were holding back from buying the 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone in anticipation of the 64GB model, the company has announced that the higher capacity version is all set to make its debut in India. The handset will go on sale from February 24 and it’ll carry a price tag of Rs 23999.

The 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 is one of the cheapest flagship phones on the market, but it does have a few downsides. Firstly, the internal memory is all you get as there’s no microSD card slot and you’ll have to rely on external accessories such as USB OTG for connecting storage devices. And out of 16GB, just about 12GB is available for hoarding content.

That certainly isn’t enough for most users and brings the need for a higher storage model. The difference in retail amounts between the 16GB and 64GB options is Rs 3000 which is pretty reasonable, but the 5.5-inch OnePlus One does have the upper hand here since it offers the same 64GB storage and at Rs 21999. What gives Xiaomi’s handset the advantage is that it comes in a compact design which is easy to use in a single hand.
