Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone takes India by storm, Flipkart crashes in 39 mins over scramble to get it

Demand for the Xiaomi Mi3 was so high in India, it brought the Flipkart website crashing within 39 minutes of it going up for sale today. Xiaomi is known for only releasing limited stock of its devices at a time, though we don’t know how many units of the smartphone in question were up for sale today.

We witnessed the same scenario when the budget Moto G was launched in the country in February this year. It’s undoubtedly good publicity and increases the hype when a retailer claims to have run out of stock of a particular product in a jiffy, possibly getting more people interested in buying it. As for the Xiaomi Mi3, it has been reported that registrations for it crossed the 100000 mark.
