Xiaomi to launch Mi TV 4A in India on March 7

Xiaomi made a big splash last month when it unveiled the Mi TV 4 in India, its first television launch in the country ever. It’s now looking to build on the momentum of the device by bringing even more models to the country.

While this started out as a rumor, Xiaomi recently confirmed the development via its social media handles and website. There’s a dedicated page for an event on March 7 when the company plans to show off a TV. Going by the Switch To Smart tagline, it’ll be a smart TV.

That’s to be expected from Xiaomi, a brand famous for turning water purifiers and sports shoes into smart gadgets. Even the 55-inch Mi TV 4 which made its way here was a smart TV. While that particular variant was priced at an already-affordable Rs 39999, the new ones are probably going to be even cheaper.

As per Android Central, Xiaomi is going to release the Mi TV 4A in 32-inch and 42-inch iterations in India. The former might cost buyers a mere Rs 12999 and the latter Rs 21999. That’s extremely cheap for a smart TV and may well allow the firm to disrupt the TV market the way it rose to the top in the smartphone sector.

Specs-wise, the 32-inch Mi TV 4A gets its hands on a 1366 x 768p display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, and a 1.5GHz quad-core Amlogic T962 processor. The 42-inch Mi TV 4A upgrades things to a 1080 x 1920p screen, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, an Amlogic T962 SoC, HDR10 support, Dolby Virtual Surround Sound, and DTA audio.
