Moto 360 smartwatch launch happening this July

Say what you will about Motorola’s upcoming Moto 360, it’s definitely much better looking than LG’s ‘Android Wear’ and will be landing in July. Rumor has it that the Motorola device will be pegged at £203, which would not be much costlier than the £179 price supposedly attached to the LG G Watch.

The LG smartwatch is anticipated to debut on May 27 and this will give it a slight advantage over Motorola’s wearable in terms of time. But the Moto 360 is hands-down the more beautiful and refreshingly retro creation. It doesn’t sport the boring square face we’ve come to associate with smart wrist wear, unlike the G Watch.

Running on the Android Wear platform announced by Google this year, the Moto 360 sports a circular watch face to give it an exterior we’re most likely to identify with. Apart from this, it flaunts elegant straps made of leather or metal. The whole design reeks of traditional wristwatches to gently nudge you into adopting smartwatches.

The device will pair up to your phone so it can notify you about incoming calls, messages, social network updates and what not. It is created to respond to your voice saying the ‘OK Google’ command for fixing an appointment, sending a text, setting an alarm and more. LG, Samsung and Motorola are currently the only brands which have taken up Android Wear.

Referring to a post on Le Journal du Geek, Trusted Reviews reports that the Moto 360 launch may be expected in July. This will happen after Google’s supposed plans to announce more details about the smartwatch at its I/O developer conference in June.
