Perhaps to sway you away from purchasing the Moto X, Gionee has launched the Elife S5.5 which is Rs 1K cheaper than the impressive Motorola smartphone. On paper, it wins in the specs department as well thanks to its full HD display panel, an octa core processor and not to mention the thinnest form factor for a smartphone.
Unveiled prior to the MWC event earlier this year, the Gionee Elife S5.5 is already available to buy in China. Its thickness stands at 5.5mm, while it measures 145.1mm and 70.2mm in height and width, respectively. On this body rests a 5-inch Super AMOLED panel garnering a full HD resolution.
Powered by the Android-based Amigo OS 2.0, this phone houses a 13MP camera on its rear surface and a 5MP unit on its front. 16GB worth of internal memory is on offer through the Gionee Elife S5.5, but there is no scope for further expansions. A 1.7GHz octa core processor can be found inside the device, aside from a 2GB RAM.
The Gionee Elife S5.5 is set to go on sale on April 27 at the above mentioned price.
