Windows Phone Mango Update

Yesterday at around 10 am Pacific Time, the new Windows Phone 7.5 update, popularly known as Mango, started rolling out. According to the official Windows Phone blog, the worldwide update is their most refreshed software till date and packs in numerous interesting features.

Windows Phone 7.5 will be available to all users within the next four weeks. As per the blog, the company will try its best to make the update available to all its users as soon as possible. However, it is not easy for them to roll it out to everyone at the same time. This is because reaching out to several phone models and carriers requires the perfect engineering balance.

Along with the updated operating system, the company is also supplying new software developed by individual phone manufacturers. The software is essential for the phone and apps to function optimally with all features of Windows Phone 7.5. Hence the company opines that they are technically giving out more than one update for Windows Phone users.

The company is planning to roll out the Mango update one at a time by initially giving it to ten percent users this week, then 25 in the next and so on. They seem to be doing so for observing reactions and feedback which will help them further improve the software’s quality.

Users will be duly notified about the Windows Phone Mango update for which they will have to install the newest version of the Zune Software for PC or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac depending on the computer they own.
