Windows Phone Developer Tools advance to Beta

Windows Beta Tools The Windows Phone Developer Tool CTP has been largely accepted by many consumers. These Tools assist in developing various applications and games specifically for Windows Phone 7 devices. To enhance the experience, Windows Phone 7 team recently went through a series of activities and finally unveiled the Beta version, revealed the Window Developer blog.

In February 2010, Windows Phone 7 was uncloaked at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In March, at the MIX 10 event in Las Vegas, the application platform was released which included the initial CTP of the Windows Phone Developer Tools. These tools further received an upgrade and were provided with CTP Refresh.

At the TechED 2010, information about the Windows Phone Marketplace was highlighted. Finally this month, Windows Phone Developer Tools unfurled the beta version and preview developer phones are now being transmitted to various ISVs.

The engineering team highlights few significant items that enhance the functionality of this software. Microsoft Expression Blend is now incorporated directly within the Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta. Users can unlock the device for various development purposes and transfer XAP files straight into an unlocked device.

The software is near completion and many namespaces which were initially spread over various DLLs are now hooked together. Many other namespaces have modifications and realignments. Additionally, the software includes Push Notifications, Accelerometer and App Bar APIs. In order to compete with other developments in the entire OS, the company introduced Silverlight.

Further the company anticipates to introduce many other additional controls that failed to make it for the beta release. Developers interested in developing applications and games for Windows Phone 7 can now enroll themselves for the Windows Phone 7 JumpStart that is a virtual live class.

Developers can avail these classes for no cost and these sessions will be conducted from July 20-July 22. The course is mainly for 3 hours and includes four virtual instructor-led sessions. The company will provide pre-production preview devices to developers from this month onwards.

Developers can get various updates from the Window Phone Developer team. Starting next Monday (July 19th), Windows is anticipated to start shipping the devices more broadly.
