Windows Phone 7 allegedly coming with phone-to-console gaming

Windows Phone 7When Windows Phone 7 introduced a line up of Xbox Live games, we had penned a post detailing about the games included in the first wave. Well, now recently the mobile terrain seems to have got a whiff of the handset coming up with an enticing new feature. Joystiq reveals that there is a possibility of the Windows Phone 7 coming with phone-to-console gaming. A representative of the company reportedly disclosed this fact at the X10 event which took place in Toronto.

The representative stated, “We are working on real-time phone-to-console, likely initially through Wi-Fi — again, operator networks are sensitive to that. That’s not on day one; day one will be turn-by-turn as well as companion-type gaming where you play a level on the phone and it may unlock a level or a weapon or some special achievement on the console game.”

This would mean that initially the handset will offer turn-by-turn gameplay, while they would be developing a phone-to-console one as well. However, allegedly the representative comments on a real-time phone-to-console gaming through Wi-Fi for the Windows Phone 7. It is expected to be available for mobile aficionados with a gaming fetish in the near future.

There is also a mention of gaming between the phone and the PC with the help of the Xbox Live infrastructure. Additionally, there is word that the company is in discussions with various software developers to endow their users with an enticing Twitter experience. With nothing officially out, this enthralling phone-to-console gameplay remains a rumor which only time will tell all.
