We had reported reported earlier in November 2007 regarding talks between China Mobile and China Unicom with Apple to launch iPhones in the Chinese Market. Now, there is news that China Mobile has discontinued the talks with Apple.
Initially, there were issues regarding the sharing of revenues with Apple as they has demanded a share of 20 to 30 percent which was more for China Mobile as they were not planning to give so much.
There is news saying the two companies have failed to make any agreement and so the Apple iPhone will not launch in China.
This is definately going to affect Apple as China has the world’s largest market which will now not be selling iPhones, excpet probably in the gray market. Apple now has hopes with China Unicom which is a smaller operator than China Mobile.
Even China Unicom is not commenting about the talks going on with Apple iPhones. The company is not even ready to say whether it is going to bring iPhones in Chinese Market at all.
The news about Apple iPhones in China is yet a mystery which is not being solved. Nobody knows when the iPhones are going to hit the Chinese Market.
