WhatsApp’s latest beta lets you quote messages now

WhatsApp’s latest beta release lets you send and view quotes in a chat according to a new report. It’s a neat new feature which should make it easier to send an old message without having to copy paste it into the chat box.

As per Android Police, you can start quoting WhatsApp messages by selecting any message in a group or one-on-one chat. A new Reply button will then pop up on top. Tapping it will result in the text getting formatted as a preview on top of the text entry box. You can then add your own thoughts on the quote before hitting send.

WhatsApp also allows you to tap on an x button to get rid of the quote if you don’t want to send it anymore. Once sent, the message will show up in the chat window with the sender’s color-coded name. This could prove to very useful since it’ll be easier to distinguish messages in a crowded group.
