Vodafone’s new Rs 244 plan offers 70GB 4G data

Vodafone India has announced a brand new plan in an effort to better compete against fast growing rival Reliance Jio. The former’s new scheme gives away 70GB of data over the course of 70 days.

The plan will set subscribers back by Rs 244. Under the terms of the offer, they’ll get 1GB of 3G/4G data per day for 70 days and unlimited calls to any Vodafone customer. However, it can only be taken up by new customers and not existing ones.

Moreover, the validity of 70 days is only around for the first recharge. The validity falls down to 35 days for the same amount when recharging for the second time. This still results in a sizable 35GB of Vodafone 4G data to consume.

The fact that only Vodafone-to-Vodafone calls are unlimited is a major drawback. People who want access to unlimited voice calls to any network can instead opt for a Rs 346 plan which is valid for 56 days. They’ll get the same 1GB of 3G/4G data per day.

The catch here is that voice calls are limited to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week. Vodafone is additionally offering a 5% cashback to users who recharge for the Rs 244 and Rs 346 plan via the MyVodafone app. This cashback will be handed over in the form of talk time.

Vodafone’s offering up to 10% cashback on certain unlimited recharges as well. Bharti Airtel also has a Rs 244 scheme of its own, offering the same 1GB/day data benefit and unlimited Airtel-to-Airtel voice calls.
