Vodafone to pick up Nokia N8 handset

Vodafone has introduced smartphones like iPhone 3G and BlackBerry to mobile phone buffs across the U.K. in the past. Vodafone will soon add the Nokia N8 handset to their line of offerings for U.K. customers. It has been designed with a 3.5″ touchscreen display and flaunts a 12MP camera enhanced with Xenon flash .

This Bluetooth enabled device comes with internal memory of 16GB and is embedded with a memory card slot. It integrates an MP3 player and offers stereo FM radio. The handset incorporates built-in speakers and lets users record sound clips or memos. Owners can access GPRS services and enjoy numerous Java games and applications on this device.

The Nokia N8 incorporates a GPS navigation system and is compatible with Vodafone Sat Nav, HSDPA and Mobile TV. It supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bandwidths and 3G networks. Back up for contacts, calendar and important files through a PC can be executed with the phone’s PC synchronization feature.

Users can also send or receive emails and update statuses on SNS with this phone. It is sold with a charger, a data cable, a user guide, a stylus and the required software. It comes powered by a battery that allows for talk time of about 720 minutes and standby time of approximately 390 hours. The dimensions of the phone are 113.5mm x 59mm x 12.9mm and it weighs about 135g.

The launch date the Nokia N8 has not yet been revealed by Vodafone.
