Vodafone SuperNight pack offers unlimited data at just Rs 29

Vodafone India’s fighting back against Reliance Jio with an all-new SuperNight recharge pack which offers unlimited 3G/4G data access afterhours. While the tariff changes on a circle to circle basis, the cost will be in the range of Rs 29.

This is pretty low considering the uncapped nature of the deal. Vodafone says the SuperNight pack can be activated at any point during the day but only kicks in between 1 am and 6 am. Crunching some numbers, that works out to around Rs 6 per hour. Customers can subscribe to SuperNight online, offline or via the *444*4# USSD code.

Vodafone’s scheme is ideal for night owls who do their browsing by night. Some apps even cater to such packs. For instance, YouTube has a special Smart Offline feature that lets users schedule downloads at night. It’s a nifty tool for people who don’t want to stay up at night watching videos but do want to spend as little cash as possible streaming them.

In comparison, Reliance Jio gives away about 1GB of 4G data at Rs 10 on a daily basis and doesn’t offer any special incentives for going online at night. Demand usually isn’t very high afterhours, allowing telecom operators to offer discounts to end users.

Vodafone also has special Ramzan offers running. One offers consumers in Assam and the North-East circle unlimited national roaming, unlimited voice calling, and 25GB of data at Rs 786. The other similarly costs Rs 786 and grants Rajasthan-based subscribers full talk time and ISD calling to Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar at Rs 0.14/second.
