Vodafone ‘SuperHour’ plans will offer unlimited 4G internet for 1 hour

What can only be viewed as an effect of Reliance Jio’s disruption of the telecom market, Vodafone has just announced new ‘SuperHour’ plans which allow its prepaid subscribers to get unlimited 3G/4G data for 1 hour at just Rs 16. These plans have gone live today, and will be available in all of the telecom operator’s circles from January 9 onwards.

Moreover, the ‘SuperHour’ plans from Vodafone will be open for unrestricted repeat purchase, which means you can keep renewing them every hour. Another such plan from the company offers unlimited local calling (only to Vodafone numbers) for 1 hour at just Rs 7.

It should be noted however, that the ‘SuperHour’ packs won’t be available for people living in Bihar – Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh – Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh – Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh – Telangana. What’s also worth mentioning is that the rates will vary slightly across different territories.

Under the new ‘SuperHour’ scheme, there’s something for 2G customers as well. They will be able to grab their unlimited internet access in exchange of just Rs 5. Repeat purchases of these voice and data packs will also be allowed.

Competition from Reliance Jio is forcing all telecom operators within India to come up with newer plans to retain their subscribers. Vodafone itself was compelled to offer free roaming on incoming calls during Diwali.
