Vodafone international roaming pack introduced in India

The all new Vodafone international roaming pack for customers in India claims to offer over 90 percent discounts on data in more than 45 countries around the world. These include the UK, the UAE, Thailand, Singapore and the US amongst a number of others.

The user-friendly service is said to have been introduced for making international roaming affordable for people who are traveling abroad. Apart from data charges, it reduces the tariff for outgoing and international calls by more than 64 percent, whereas it makes incoming calls cheaper by over 28.5 percent. The network provider has collaborated with select carriers in each of the 45 countries which will offer the aforementioned benefits to customers in their respective regions.

Subscribers should note that only the operators who have joined forces with the company in question can provide the reduced calling rates. All the other international carriers’ network usage will continue to charge standard international rates. Users in the home country can visit the official website or send a toll free message to take a look at the list of compatible service providers around the globe.

The monthly rental for this particular pack is Rs. 2,499 and once activated, it will charge Rs. 50 per MB while roaming as opposed to the current rate of Rs. 563.2. Incoming as well as outgoing international calls will cost Rs. 50 for every minute instead of Rs. 70 and Rs. 140, respectively.

Also, users will be able to make local calls for as low as Rs. 25 per minute, which currently requires them to shell out Rs. 70. And as far as SMS is concerned, it will be cut down by 33.33 percent and each will charge them Rs. 10 rather than Rs. 15.

It is inspired by a similar pack that was announced back in 2012. The latter with a monthly rental of Rs. 1,499 had decreased the charges for data, SMS and voice while roaming internationally by as much as 60 percent. Appreciation for this service seems to have paved the way for the new one.

In order to activate the Vodafone international roaming pack, customers will have to place a call to the company through the home network and the rental charges will be added to their billing cycles. The service is currently being rolled out and will be available in the entire country in a few weeks.
