Last seen at the MWC 2012, the Vodafone Huawei Ascend G 300 handset has picked up a release date for the UK. It is expected to be available as part of the carrier’s PAYG and pay monthly data plans.

In terms of its principal specifications, the smartphone’s front panel is dominated by a 4-inch clear touchscreen, while it packs in a 1GHz processor. It arrives with Wi-Fi support as well as video playback. Claiming to offer a decent battery life, the offering entails a 5MP camera on its flip side. Presently, it runs on the Gingerbread platform and will apparently be upgradeable to ICS by the end of summer.

A post on Engadget insists that the offering would not be too heavy on the pockets as the network provider has taken care of the same. Tipping the scales at 130g, it could comfortably place itself in the category of an affordable Android phone. It carries about 2.5GB of onboard memory which can be expanded to 32GB via a removable memory card. It is available in two color choices of white and chrome.

According to the Vodafone Huawei Ascend G 300 release date and price details, it can be picked up for £100 on PAYG with at least £10 of top-up. It is free on £15.50, 24-month plans. This choice should provide potential users with nearly 500 texts, 100 minutes of talk time and roughly 250MB of mobile data. The handset is slated to be available on April 13 via Vodafone UK.
