Viz Media dishes out Viz Manga app for iPhone

Viz Manga App

Earlier, Viz Media’s handy Viz Manga app packed in support only for iPad owners to enable downloading exciting manga titles. For broadening its reach across different mobile devices, the company has announced the official launch of its latest Viz Manga app for the iPhone.

Users can easily access around 28 series and almost 200 manga volumes across a wide range of genres, including Bleach, Death Note, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bakuman and many more from Viz Media’s Shonen Jump, Shojo Beat. These volumes are being made available for download in the U.S. and Canada for only $4.99, each. To celebrate its launch, the publisher is also offering the first volume of its select number of series for merely $2.99.

“The Viz Manga app is a unique proprietary platform that will become one of the leading digital applications to read manga on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch,” cited Alvin Lu, SVP and General Manager of Viz Media. “The technology allows readers to download, store and enjoy their favorite manga with easy access to a substantial and ongoing downloadable library. Now you can take hundreds of manga in your pocket anytime, anywhere on a mobile device with the Viz Manga app!”

This is a 40 percent discount off the regular price and runs until midnight PST May 9th. The app regularly updates new titles as well as free previews of upcoming manga series. It provides users with the ability to bookmark, easily navigate and browse-by-series in the ‘My Manga’ library. Furthermore, the featured push notification option automatically notifies consumers when new volumes of their beloved bookmarked titles are added.

The new Viz Manga app can now be downloaded for free from Apple’s App Store.
