Vivo X5 Pro with 8MP front lens, 4G support launched in India for Rs 27980

The Vivo X5 Pro is being launched in India today, attached with a Rs 27980 price tag and patriotically hitting the mid-range market on August 15. The handset was released in China back in May, with the company choosing not to include its eye scanning abilities in the Indian version.

This was presumably done to keep the cost of the Vivo X5 Pro down, but would have made the device unique among increasingly generic smartphones in its category. The eye scanner technology would have allowed users to unlock their phone and protect information stored in the device.

One unique feature of the X5 Pro is its 8MP front camera, which can merge several images to increase the resolution of a picture to 32MP. Another aspect is its dual-SIM slot, which has the ability to either support a microSIM and a nanoSIM (both 4G-enabled) together or a microSIM combined with a microSD card.
