Viber, the instant messaging and VoIP client’s Android and iOS versions have been updated and the applications have been awarded with a lot of new features. It goes without saying that the company has also taken care of various bugs that were hampering the apps’ smooth working.
The new 4.0 version brings a slightly different set of functions for both the aforesaid platforms. Android tablet users will be extremely happy to know that this instant messaging utility now supports slates as well. And one of the most important additions is that of the stickers. Subscribers can use over 1000 stickers which are available through its dedicated market. These are supported on all compatible iOS and Android gadgets.
Apart from its text and calling attributes, the voice messaging service is now real time and you can send instant voice messages by holding a button and talking. The messages will be delivered to your friend as you are saying it, that is, in real time. And if that’s not enough, you can now add as many as 100 participants to a single group and even select backgrounds for conversations via the app’s gallery. All the three features play well with Google- and Apple-certified gadgets.
Furthermore, iOS users can look forward to various performance improvements, whereas Android customers can expect better notifications. On iDevices, users can now forward any message to a different contact or a group. The Google variant of the app is compatible with devices running Froyo or later platforms, while those who have devices running iOS 5.0 or later can download it.
