In the month of December we reported that the LG Ally handset is expected to be updated by February 2011. Well, the wait is finally over as Verizon Wireless has announced a new software update for the LG Ally.

Owners who have been eagerly waiting can cheer since the updated Android 2.2 OS (Froyo) boasts of advanced enhancements and improvements. The security level is leveraged with various options like remote device wipe, device lock, password complexity and minimum password length. Bluetooth voice dialing displays the user’s verbal instructions and repeats them for utmost precision.

Long pressing the home keys will enable users to seamlessly swap between eight recently opened applications. The browsing experience is improved while the update also renders a revived contact directory which merges corporate and Google accounts. Besides LG Social Application, mobile buffs can access Amazon, Amazon MP3, Facebook and Thinkfree Office applications.
