Verizon Wireless launches the USB1000 Global Modem

Verizon USB1000 ModemVerizon Wireless will now provide customers high-speed data connectivity globally through its new offering. The company has introduced the innovative USB1000 Global Modem from the Novatel Wireless for users to experience ultimate connectivity while traveling anywhere in the world.

This modem will now accompany a series of global devices such as the BlackBerry Storm smartphone and the HP Mini 1151NR notebook. Using the latest technology on CDMA and GSM networks, the company will offer frequency bands and multimode operations. Customers can browse the Web and download files while sending and receiving e-mail wirelessly.

The company offers users a wide range of services that can be accessed globally. Users can view personal or corporate email and attachments on popular globally-capable smartphones. Customers traveling for a short time in countries with GSM coverage can access the data device. They can also keep their network’s phone numbers and voice mail passwords and shift content to their handset with Backup Assistant. This service doesn’t need daily rental fees or security deposits. The global Value Program provides discounted rates for frequent international travelers. This is available for a monthly charge of $4.99 from nearly 150 GSM destinations. Users can make or receive calls and stay well connected even on the major cruise line through Cruise Ship Services.

Users can choose between a GlobalAccess monthly plan and a pay-per-use plan. The GlobalAccess Monthly Plan begins at $129.99 monthly access with a 100 MB allowance in 31 select destinations at $0.005/KB after allowance. Access in the U.S. and Canada at 5 GB allowance and $0.05/MB overage is also available. In addition to that plan customers are offered a 200 MB allowance in 31 select destinations for a monthly charge of $219.99. For the same overage rate as the 129.99 monthly access plan, they can access 5 GB allowance in the U.S. and Canada.

The GlobalAccess Pay Per Use is offered with a 5 GB monthly allowance Mobile Broadband service plan in the U.S. for $59.99. The Pay Per Use rate is $0.002/KB in Canada, $0.005/KB in Mexico, and $0.02/KB in more than 175 other countries. Verizon Wireless’ GlobalEmail Plans start for a monthly charge of $20.00 with a Nationwide Email Plan. Corporate email and Web access is acquirable as data only plans for a monthly rate of$64.99 and $69.99 respectively.

The Verizon Wireless USB1000 Global Modem is available through Verizon Wireless Communications Stores. It is offered for a price of $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
