The Verizon Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 have been made available for pre-order by the US carrier. Both these devices haven’t been slapped with their exact release date details as yet, but a tag on the network provider’s official website states that these handsets will start shipping by November 11, 2012. Both can be booked now either with two-year contracts or without any agreements.
At the end of October, the carrier had announced that it will be providing these smartphones in the US, along with the Samsung Ativ Odyssey which is still to go official. They have all been equipped with the latest version of the Windows Phone OS which is said to have an even more simple and distinctive feel. Both with the Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822, a number of qualifying data plans will be offered by the network provider.
The 8X by HTC comes equipped with a 4.3-inch 720P HD Super LCD2 touchscreen which sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. Its dimensions read 5.21 x 2.61 x 0.40 inches, while its weight is set at 4.66oz. Under its hood lies a 1.5GHz dual core processer which powers all its attributes. This phone carries on its back an 8MP snapper which is accompanied by a 2.1MP front-facing camera. Like most HTC device of late, it boasts the Beats Audio feature which is said to grant enhanced music experiences.
The Lumia 822 is actually Verizon’s version of the 820 smartphone unveiled by the Finnish mobile maker recently. This one too has been embedded with a 4.3-inch display which comes with Nokia’s ClearBlack OLED trait. A 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM are responsible for its operations, whereas 16GB internal memory has been provided for hoarding purposes. This can be extended till up to 64GB with the use of a microSD card. The handset is able to click images using its rear camera of 8MP capacity. And for video chatting proposes there’s a 1.2MP front-facing snapper as well.
The Verizon Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 can be pre-ordered now through the carrier’s official website. Coupled with two-year contracts each, the 8X can be reserved at a price of $199.99 and the Lumia device at $99.99.
