Velocity 83 smartphone unleashed

Velocity 83A recent announcement by Velocity Mobile at the CTIA in San Francisco revealed the introduction of their new windows 6.1 professional powered smartphone, the Velocity 83. The slender phone, primarily a GPS device actually made quite a silent entry at the CTIA.

The Velocity 83 comes with a nice 2.8” QVGA touch screen, roomy enough to give the user a great experience of Velocity’s Odyssey user interface. The interface has been exclusively fabricated to ensure users get more finger friendly. Another key attribute of the smartphone is the availability of a pair of microSD card slots. While one card slot is purely for media that is storage, the other card slot will make sure you have enough space to store maps for your GPS navigation software.

Other features of the Velocity 83 are a 2 megapixel camera, built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi for high speed data and a quad band GSM support that should take care of your cellular connectivity.

The slender smartphone is expected to see an early November 2008 release for a price tag of around $500. A secret though is the market where this phone is expected to release first.
