Upgraded Twitter app moves in for Android devices

Android Screenshot As far as posting tweets from Android devices is concerned, there are a number of third-party apps that the ‘Twitterati’ can hop onto. But a committed application from the official makers that helps do the needful with ease is always welcome. According to the official Twitter blog, the social networking website has now released an updated version of its Android app. This app enables access to even those who have not signed in or don’t have an account.

The novel version allows consumers to peep into trends, browse for interests and view suggested users in various categories. These include the likes of fashion, entertainment and travel. Incorporated with a universal search option, the app also scans the address book to find friends that are on Twitter. It permits to sign up for Twitter from within the app itself and boosts the speed of navigation for the site.

Once signed in, the app welcomes consumers with a timeline and icons that help view @mentions, messages, and lists. The @mentions tab is now upgraded with Retweets for viewing replies. The upscale to Twitter for Android further encompasses an auto-complete for usernames. Intended to provide easier functionality, the newly developed app can be adopted for even editing notes, pictures, web clips and audio notes from the Android device.

The upgraded version of Twitter for Android can be downloaded from Android Market on devices with Android 2.1 or higher.
