Updated Skype for Windows 8.1 now goes live

Some people have been reporting issues with the Windows 8.1 OS after they downloaded Skype on their devices running the new version of the operating system. And those who were disappointed because of this can now heave a sigh of relief as Microsoft has released the update to make the application compatible with the new version of the platform.

One of the most important things that professionals seek is multitasking and they will be glad to know that the company has made the app capable of carrying out multiple tasks. Which means that you do not need to exclusively chat on the tablet and keep all the other tasks on hold. It is now possible to open any other application along with the Skype screen.

Navigation through the friend list has been updated to make it smooth. In addition to this, the software giant has thrown in the ability to share as well as receive digital media files. There’s absolutely no time limit as to when you can forward them as long as you have an active internet connection and these files can be of any size too.

As you may be already know, Skype is Microsoft’s application which essentially facilitates video conferencing over a Wi-Fi, 3G or LTE connection. And to those who wish to make voice calls to landlines or mobile phones which do not have internet or Skype installed on them, the application allows them to do so at relatively low rates.
