U.S. Cellular adds HTC Hero S and BlackBerry Curve 9350 to smartphone range

Expanding its range of smartphones with various operating systems, U.S. Cellular recently announced the availability BlackBerry Curve 9350 and HTC Hero S. The RIM handset will be running on the BlackBerry 7 operating system, while the HTC device employs the Android Gingerbread mobile platform.

The BlackBerry Curve is powered with services like BBM 6, the BlackBerry Music store supported by song database from Amazon, a new Social Feeds app and pre-installed social apps including Facebook and Twitter to keep in touch with family and friends. Needless to say, it also opens up an arena of different applications by way of BlackBerry App World.

“The BlackBerry Curve 9350 combines everything customers love about BlackBerry smartphones with new features that make connecting with friends, family and business easier than ever,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “At U.S. Cellular, we offer devices that help our customers simplify their life and stay organized, which is one of the reasons why we have the happiest customers in wireless.”

Apart from Gingerbread, the HTC Hero S is also incorporated with HTC Sense. It features a 1.2GHz processor, 5MP camera with HD video recording and the f2.2 lens along with a 1.3MP front facing camera. The HTC Watch lets users access and view television shows and movies whenever they like.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350 is now being offered by U.S. Cellular for a price of $49.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement. On the other hand, the HTC Hero S is priced at $199.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate and a new contract.
