Shocking: Chinese men try to sell their kidneys for latest iPhone 6S

Two Chinese men were so desperate to get their hands on the iPhone 6S, they tried selling a kidney each to fund the purchase. The trading of human organs has been banned in China since 2007, and a voluntary donor program has been set up to fight against those dealing in this illicit business. The unfortunate men who have been identified as Wu and Huang, were both eager to buy the latest Apple smartphone.

Using the Internet, they tracked down an agent who was ready to pay them good money for their kidneys. He asked them to get a checkup at a hospital in Nanjing so he could be assured that the organs being offered in exchange for cash, were in healthy working condition. Wu and Huang turned up at the appointed place accordingly, but the ‘savior’ they met online did not show up. This made both die-hard iPhone 6S fans uneasy.

Wu suggested that they should drop the plan since it was illegal anyway, says China Daily. Since Huang refused to abandon the scheme, he notified the authorities, causing his would-be ‘partner in crime’ to go into hiding. When you’re an Android fan, it’s difficult to see what’s the big deal about an iPhone 6S. But the idea of throwing away a kidney for an iPhone is crazy even by Apple fanboy standards.

iPhone 6S specifications list at a glimpse:

This is not the first time someone has tried to sell an organ for an Apple product. In 2012, a Chinese student actually sold his kidney for 22,000 yuan and bought an iPad as well as an iPhone. Following the transaction, he was reported to suffer from renal deficiency.
