TuneIn Radio app for Windows Phone now features FM tuner

TuneIn Radio has sought to up the ante by officially introducing a new version of its TuneIn Radio app featuring a FM tuner for all Windows Phone 7 handset users.

The latest version of the app enables users to opt-in seamlessly to access the FM tuner when the terrestrial radio signal is finely tuned or hindered by broadcaster restriction. This effectively reduces data costs as well as conserves overall battery life. Additionally, the FM tuner permits Windows Phone owners to indulge in almost any local FM station and not only those which are compatible with Internet streams.

The TuneIn Radio mobile app includes an exhaustive directory of over 50,000 AM or FM as well as Internet only radio stations. It also features podcasts airing across 140 different countries and broadcasting in approximately 100 varied languages. The app utilizes an innovative search technology, which permits users to search for programs and music by typing in specific songs, teams, names of artists or on-air personalities. It efficiently uses the handset’s Wi-Fi or GPS connectivity to automatically identify local stations in real-time.
