Truedialer app adds availability feature in latest update

Truecaller has rolled out an update for the Android version of its Truedialer app, introducing a new availability feature for its users. There’s no word yet on when the upgrade will be given out to its Windows Phone platform.

The availability tool allows people to see whether the person they are contacting is free to talk. A red icon next to an individual’s name signifies they’re busy, while a green one shows they’re available. A user can change their status by switching on an indicator. Truedialer can further sync with the smartphone’s calendar to judge if a consumer is active or not.

The app also automatically detects if a user is already on a call or if their handset is in silent mode. The new feature only works between Truedialer members. If an individual is shown as busy, the application offers three options to the person trying to contact them. They can either ignore the status and call anyway or send an SMS.

The third option is to wait for a notification, telling them that the person they want to talk to is now free. The new function can be disabled by changing the settings under the Preferences option. CEO and Co-Founder of Truecaller Alan Mamedi said the availability feature has been implemented as a way to find out if a person is able to take calls in real-time.

The last big update given out by Truedialer was back in March this year, when the app began support for over 500 dual-SIM devices. It was initially launched in October 2014 for the Android and Windows platforms. Version 3.5 of the application is live now and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
